Obituaries

Lula Belle Scott Boyd, 86, of Martinsville, Va. passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024. She was born in Bassett, Va. December 20, 1937 to Thomas “Tom” N. Scott and Sadie Amos Scott.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother Cecil ; sisters, Peggy Santuck and Velvet Bowman (Ronnie); grandson, Billy Harris; son-in-law, Daryl Harris; and niece Lorie Rorrer.

She is survived by her son, Randy Eanes (Betsy); daughter Deborah Harris; grandchildren, Sierra Harris Minter (Ryan), Sanddii Eanes, Christopher Eanes (Chase), Memory Roberts; great grandchildren, Nathan Minter and Kendall Kantorik; sister, Nancy Rorrer (Sam); brother-in-law, Edward Santuck; nephews, Ricky Scott, Randolph Scott and Sammy Rorrer; also many beloved great nephews.

Lula was a very kindhearted and caring person who loved her family, as well as all of the many other young children who she helped raise as if they were her own. She also loved taking care of her flowers.

She retired from Tultex as a quality inspector after 37 years of service.

She was a member of McCabe Baptist Church.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home and will be officiated by Reverend Lewis Harris. A burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Roselawn Burial Park.
