Obituaries

Margie Mullins Barbour, 90, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Sovah Health Martinsville. She was born on December 17, 1934, to the late Creed Keever Mullins and Divia Whitlow Mullins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delis Leroy Barbour.

Margie was a devoted member of Fort Trial Baptist Church. She retired from DuPont after many years of dedicated service. Her greatest joys in life included reading her Bible, spending time in prayer, and fellowshipping with her church family. She had a deep love for both her family and her church, and she also found joy in traveling and shopping.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Tony Barbour (Ginger); granddaughter, Tonya H. Wilson (David); great-granddaughters, Amanda McGuire and Leigh Ann Adams (Ethan); and great-great-granddaughters, Emersyn Adams, Hadley Adams, and Bristol Haden. She is also remembered fondly by extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel, with Pastor Joey McNeill officiating. Interment will follow at Henry Memorial Park.
