Obituaries

Marvin Lee Jenkins, 84, of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away Friday, December 13, 2024. He was born June 2, 1940, in Leaksville, North Carolina to the late Dennis Louis Jenkins and Louise Barnes Jenkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Jenkins and Don Jenkins.

Marvin was a member of Smith Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a dedicated employee of DuPont for more than twenty-eight years. He was a 1958 graduate of Drewry Mason High School and graduated from The National Business College in Roanoke, Virginia with an Associate Degree in Business. Marvin was a very outgoing and friendly person who loved helping others. His hobbies included golf, fishing, and hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife of over sixty years, Geraldene Smith Jenkins; brother, Dr. Jerry Jenkins (Aleta); special aunts, Patsy Cox and Naomi Jenkins; nieces, Jennifer Wakefield (John), Julie Strohkorb (Jerry), and Denice Reamy; nephews, Dr. Charles Jenkins, Dr. Todd Jenkins, and Gary Jenkins; extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Cemetery with Pastor Berry Crumpton, Jr. officiating. Memorials can be made to Smith Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3978 Horsepasture Price Road, Ridgeway, Virginia 24148.
