Obituaries

Ray Anthony Fountain, 64, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024. He was born January 25, 1960, in Henry County to Lillie Mae (Milliner) Fountain and the late Raymond Stovall Fountain.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Varie Williams.

Ray was a member of New Fall Creek Primitive Baptist Church, he was a huge fan of the Washington Commanders football team, he also enjoyed fishing and fast cars. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and he loved to have fun.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Fountain, they were together for forty-eight years and married for ten years; daughters, Tameka Hairston and Keyasha Hairston; son, Rayshawn Hairston; sisters, Jackie Fountain, Shelia Williams (Barry), and Betty Penn (Gordan); brothers, Mark Fountain (Juanita) and Vince Fountain ( Margaret); and eight grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at the Fountain Family Cemetery, 107 Delmore Lane, Axton, Virginia 24054. A visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service. There will be a floating visitation Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. The family will be receiving friends and family at 1014 Chatham Heights Road, Martinsville, Virginia.
