Rev. Elmer “Guy” Hartsock, 90, of Bassett, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at his home. He was born on February 11, 1932 in Russell County, VA to the late Claude Hartsock and the late Della Grigsby Hartsock. Guy was also preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, John Fred and Claude, Jr. Hartsock and a sister, MaudieVaughan.

Guy served his country in the United States Navy during Korean Conflict. He was a Pastor of Fork Mountain Bible Wesyln Church and he was a Pastor for 54 years.

Guy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Louise Hartsock; sons, Ronald “Rusty Hartsock (Sherry C.) and Ronnie Lee Hartsock; grandchildren, Jonathan Hartsock (Jessica), Sarah Beth KoOi (Eric), Jordon Hartsock, and Abigail Hartsock; brother, Ray Hartsock (Doris); sisters, Shirley Price, Polly Lewis (Bernard), Judy Hartsock, Linda Hall (Leonard), Phyllis Harter (Charles) and Patricia Clark; great grandchildren, Haiden, Savanna, Sophia, Rylen and Emma; special sister-in-law, Kiline that called Guy Daddy and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm with Rodney Hartsock officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Henry Memorial Park.
