Steven Duane Foley, 73, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his residence. He was born February 21, 1951, in Lerona, West Virginia to the late, Richard Foley and Marie Hall Foley.

Steven was a dedicated and loyal employee of Bassett Walker for many years, eventually retiring as the Head of Maintenance in St. Martinville, Lafayette, Louisiana. Throughout his career, he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Outside of work, Steven cherished time spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

As a grandfather, he was exceptional, offering love and guidance to his family. His playful nature and quick wit made him the life of any gathering, and his contagious laugh was a signature of his spirit. Known for his sharp sense of humor and a touch of sarcasm, Steven was truly a character. His love for plants and his impressive green thumb were also a testament to his nurturing side, as he took pride in caring for them, just as he did for those around him.

Steven will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the memories he created will continue to bring smiles to the faces of his loved ones for years to come.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael Foley (Kimberly), and Ricky Foley; two daughters, Renee Foley, and Jennifer Foley; four sisters, Debra Volkmer (Don), Lola Horton, Alice Jarrett, Peggy Washburn; eleven grandchildren, Kaitlyn Parker, Cierra Moran (Michael), Emily Rippe (Sam), Drake Foley, Sarah Pendleton, Daniel Pendleton, Logan Brim, Jason Pendleton, Heather Brim, Lillian Foley, Oliver Foley; and eight great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
