Obituaries

Yolanda Rena Hairston, 43, transitioned from this earthly life May 26, 2025, at her home in Collinsville, Virginia. She was born November 29, 1981, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Alexander Richardson and the late Diana Smith Richardson.

After graduating from Laurel Park High School, she went into the work force where her work ethic made her a valued employee. She worked fifteen years as a shift manager at Hardees and Burger King. Although her physical presence is no longer with us, her kindness and legacy will always be remembered.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Desmond Hairston; daughters, Destiny Hairston; son, Dayquan Hairston; special daughter-in-law, Tierra Waller; sister, Shelly Parker; brother, Vincent Richardson; mother-in law, Brenda Hairston; childhood best friends, Jamika Baltrop, Helen Williams, Tamara Cook; special woman who raised her, Sandra Hayes-Snead.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Elder Anthea Barbour officiating. A visitation will be held one half-hour prior to the service.
