Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen host a dinner party in new ‘The Invite’ trailer

You’re invited to watch the new trailer for The Invite.
A24 has released a brand-new trailer for its upcoming romantic comedy film from director Olivia Wilde.
The Invite is Wilde’s third directorial effort after her films Booksmart and Don’t Worry Darling. It is based on director Cesc Gay’s Spanish-language film Sentimental. Will McCormack and Rashida Jones wrote its screenplay.
In addition to directing, Wilde stars alongside Seth Rogen, Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz.
The movie follows married couple Joe (Rogen) and Angela (Wilde), who invite their upstairs neighbors Hawk (Norton) and Pina (Cruz) over for dinner, “where everything that could go wrong goes wrong,” according to an official description from the studio.
“Joe and Angela’s marriage is on thin ice. When they invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbors for a dinner party, the night spirals into unexpected places. Have they reignited the spark or lit the match that burns it all down?” the film’s official synopsis reads.
The trailer finds Joe and Angela preparing to host Hawk and Pina for dinner before the other couple arrives.
“What is this?” Joe asks Angela, who says, “That’s a rug.”
“Did you buy this rug because the neighbors are coming over?” he asks, causing her to say, “Oh my God.”
When Pina and Hawk finally arrive, Joe apologizes for having a bit of a contentious environment.
“We love a contentious environment,” Hawk says in response.
The Invite arrives in select theaters on June 26 and everywhere on July 10.

Will Smith has found his next role.
The actor is set to star in the upcoming action-thriller film Supermax for Amazon MGM Studios, ABC Audio has confirmed.
Pineapple Express and Halloween director David Gordon Green will helm the film, which is set to stream worldwide on Prime Video. Amazon MGM Studios acquired the rights to the movie from Miramax.
Smith will star as Rex in the film, which is described to be “a propulsive and twist-laden action thriller.” It follows two FBI agents who investigate a murder that has taken place inside the world’s most secure prison.
Casting on the movie is currently ongoing and production is set to start in mid-August.
David Weil and David J. Rosen, who are known for their work on the TV shows Hunters and Invasion, wrote the film. Smith will produce the movie for his company Westbrook.
Supermax will mark Smith’s first onscreen appearance since the 2024 film Bad Boys: Ride or Die. That movie was his first major film part after the 2022 incident in which he slapped presenter Chris Rock onstage at the 94th Academy Awards. It was the same night he won his best actor Oscar for portraying Richard Williams in the biopic King Richard.

Nomination day is here for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards.
The nominations were announced Wednesday by Emmy winners Liza Colón-Zayas from The Bear and Jeff Hiller from Somebody Somewhere.
The 2026 Emmys will be held at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Monday, Sept. 14. The ceremony will air on NBC and stream live on Peacock.
Mariska Hargitay will host the 78th Emmys ceremony, becoming the first woman to host the awards show in 15 years.
The Pitt leads this year’s drama categories with 25 nominations. Hacks has set the record for the most nominations in a single year in the comedy categories with 24. The previous record was held jointly by TheStudio in 2025 and The Bear in 2024. Those shows each have 23 nominations this year, respectively.

Jaafar Jackson has found his next role.
The Michael actor is set to star alongside Will Smith in the upcoming action-thriller film Supermax for Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax, ABC Audio has confirmed.
Pineapple Express and Halloween director David Gordon Green will helm the film. It is set to stream worldwide on Prime Video.
Smith will star as Rex in the film, which is described to be “a propulsive and twist-laden action thriller.” It follows two FBI agents who investigate a murder that has taken place inside the world’s most secure prison.
AnnaSophia Robb has also been cast in the film. She will seemingly play the second FBI agent along with Smith’s Rex.
David Weil and David J. Rosen, who are known for their work on the TV shows Hunters and Invasion, wrote the film. Smith will produce the movie for his company Westbrook.
Jackson, who is the nephew of Michael Jackson, portrayed his uncle in the hit biopic Michael. The Antoine Fuqua-directed film is now the highest-grossing biopic of all time, having surpassed Oppenheimer and BohemianRhapsody.
