More details have been released after a man’s body was discovered in Danville on Friday and a woman was charged with second degree murder.
According to warrants, Jeanette Staton told a family member that she killed 78-year-old Arvel Shrewsbury over a week before his body was found.
Staton was the caregiver for Shrewsbury. She and Shrewsbury got into an altercation that led to her pushing him down the steps. Staton then struck Shrewsbury in the head with a piece of wood and locked him in the basement.
Staton was arrested on Friday and has been charged with second degree murder.
