Wonder Woman will be flying back into theaters.
Co-head of DC Studios James Gunn reveals to Entertainment Weekly that a new Wonder Woman movie is officially in the works.
Gunn says the film is a “separate thing” to the Wonder Woman prequel TV series, Paradise Lost, that’s coming to HBO. He says that series is “slow moving, but it’s moving.”
As for the Wonder Woman film, Gunn confirms it’s “being written right now.” The lead role has not yet been cast.
The last Wonder Woman movies starred Gal Galdot in the title role.
Superman, directed by Gunn, comes out July 11, followed by Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, starring Milly Alcock, in June 2026.
Nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are almost here.
The Emmy nominations, which will be announced on Tuesday, will highlight the best of television over the past year.
Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego said in a press release that the submissions this year “reflect the remarkable talent, innovation and breadth that define our industry.”
Abrego added, “Great storytelling depends on the collaboration, dedication and vision of so many across our creative community.”
Nominations will be presented by What We Do in the Shadows actor Harvey Guillén and Running Point star Brenda Song.
Guillén’s role as Guillermo de la Cruz on the critically acclaimed FX series has earned him five Critics Choice Award nominations for best supporting actor. Song recently received Variety‘s Virtuoso Award at the 2025 Bentonville Film Festival.
Critics anticipate that contenders for this year’s Emmy awards include The Bear, Hacks, Abbott Elementary, Andor, Severance and The White Lotus.
New shows like The Pitt, Adolescence, Nobody Wants This and Paradise are also expected to receive nominations, critics say.
This year’s Emmy nominations ceremony will stream live from the academy’s Wolf Theatre on the official Emmys website at 8:30 a.m. PT/11:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
The 77th Emmy Awards will broadcast live on Sunday, Sept. 14, on the CBS Network and be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. It will be hosted by Nate Bargatze.
Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne return in the sophomore season of Apple TV+’s comedy series. The duo spoke to ABC Audio about what fans can expect from the new season and the chemistry they have together on screen.
“Chemistry’s so strange,” Byrne said. “People could not get along off set but can have great chemistry on screen, and then you can see married couples do a movie and it’s really flat.”
The duo previously played husband and wife in the 2014 comedy Neighbors and its 2016 sequel. In Platonic, they play strictly platonic, codependent best friends Sylvia and Will. Byrne says chemistry is “really ephemeral” and she was lucky to actually “really hit it off on screen and got along as well as friends off screen” with Rogen.
While Sylvia and Will’s friendship was rebuilt and strengthened throughout Platonic season 1, Rogen says the pair still “have a lot to learn” throughout season 2.
“When you get older, a lot of your life can become about presenting one reality while secretly living another one. That’s the biggest disturbance they cause in one another’s lives, is they see through each other’s fake realities in a way that might be a little too perceptive for each other’s own good,” Rogen said. “I do think they bring each other to better places ultimately, but I think they do it with a lot of friction.”
Rogen also thinks Sylvia and Will “are both in worse places than we were last season.”
“Which is great comedically,” Rogen said. “They both have a very long way to go as far as not damaging one another’s lives.”
Platonic season 2 premieres its first two episodes on Wednesday. New episodes arrive weekly through Oct. 1.
