Meth seized after vehicle pursuit

On December 30, 2024, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office arrested Anthony Lee Coverdale following a brief vehicle pursuit that ended on South Creek Ct. in the Collinsville community. Coverdale, who was wanted on three counts of felony probation violation, is now facing additional charges stemming from his arrest.

Coverdale was currently on probation for previous drugs and firearms charges. During the arrest, deputies discovered approximately 308 grams (approximately 1 pound) of methamphetamine, a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and approximately $5,000.00 in U.S. currency in his possession.

Coverdale is currently charged with the following offenses:

  • Violation of Virginia Code Section 19.2-306: Probation Violation (3x)
  • Violation of Virginia Code Section 18.2-308.2: Possession of a firearm by a previously
    convicted felon.
  • Violation of Virginia Code Section 18.2-248:Possession with the intent to distribute a
    controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Violation of Virginia Code Section 18.2-308.4: Possession of a Schedule I/II drug while in
    possession of a firearm.
  • Violation of Virginia Code Section 18.2-311.1: Possession of a firearm with an obliterated
    serial number.
  • Violation of Virginia Code Section 18.2-308: Carrying a concealed weapon.
  • Violation of Virginia Code Section 46.2-301: Drive with a suspended license.
  • Violation of Virginia Code Section 46.2-817: Failure to stop for police.

Coverdale is being held without bond at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.
