Alice Martin Mayhew, age 88 of Bassett, VA, passed away on September 9, 2025.

Mrs. Mayhew was born on May 28, 1937 in Henry County, VA to Sam Martin and Mary Draper Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas Mayhew and a son, Jerry Mayhew, and granddaughter Saige Anthony. She was a member her entire life at Fort Trial Christian Church. She was retired from Bassett Mirror.

Alice is survived by her son, Wesley Mayhew (Karen), six grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Jeff and Cindy Townsend officiating. A Private Burial will be at a later date.
