Obituary For Anna Mayer Towarnicki
Anna Mayer Towarnicki, 93, of Martinsville, passed Monday, January 29, 2024, at her home.
She was born October 17, 1930, in the Sudetenland, to the late Josef and Margaretha Pechtl Mayer.
Anna told her family, “My life can best be described as being all God’s events. Through the tragedy of war and losing my homeland, good came out of bad and I met my husband Meitek (Mike), your Grandfather. God’s protective hand has been with us in all things. Our life together has been blessed with two sons and three beautiful grandchildren. We were also blessed with four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson, and we would not be living in the greatest country. When you come from so little it helps you appreciate all that God blesses you with.”
Anna retired from Pannill Knitting Company and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church of Martinsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mieczyslaw (Mike) Towarnicki, son Zygmunt J. Towarnicki and brother, Josef J. Mayer.
Surviving are her son, Leon Towarnicki (Cynthia), three grandchildren: Marcia Towarnicki Emrich (Adam) of Polkton, NC, Jonathan Towarnicki (Kara) of Louisville, KY, and Laura Towarnicki of Providence, NC, four great-grandchildren: Kristin Emrich (Doc) of Charlotte, NC, Morgan Emrich Coley (Ty) of Polkton, NC, Ethan Emrich of Polkton, NC, and Leo Towarnicki of Louisville, KY, one great great grandson Brantley Coley of Polkton, NC.
The funeral will be 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Martinsville. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before services.
Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home and Burial Park are entrusted with arrangements.
