Obituaries

Buford Randolph Ashby, age 91, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
He was the son of the late Andrew Ashby and Vera Martin Ashby.

He was a member of Mount Olive Christian Church. He enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening and golfing.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Sanders Ashby, daughter, Tori, two sons Barry, and Scott Ashby, and five grandchildren, three step-children, Kimberly Biggs, Gene Biggs and Eddie (Cynthia) Biggs, step-grandchildren, Joshua Lee Biggs, Emily L. Biggs Ray (Shawn) and Emily James, two step-great grandchildren, Maverick and James Ray, and his sister, Lois Ashby Johnson.

Buford was preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil Ashby, George Ashby, Bobby Ashby and Eddie Ashby, and a sister, Betty Ashby Draper.

Cryptside service will be held Thursday, December 5th at 1:00pm at Roselawn Burial Park with Tim Mills officiating.

Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home is in charge.
