Carlton Lee Hankins, 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. He was born in Martinsville, VA on December 15, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Carroll Hankins; and stepbrother, James Dalton.

Carlton was a graduate of Drewry Mason High School and Virginia Tech. He worked in furniture manufacturing and sales.

He is survived by his wife Annette; daughter, Misty Sutton (Rob); granddaughters, McKena Pritchard (Stewart), Marlee Jones, and Chelsy Jones; sister Carolyn Holland; and stepsister Mary Weeks.

Carlton enjoyed golfing with friends at Beaver Hills Golf Club, playing billiards and trivia games. But what brought him the most joy was being a grandfather (Papa).

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Burial Park. Pastor Troy E. Mays will be officiating.
