Obituaries

Dale Lee Garvin, age 71, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was born June 6, 1953, to the late Vernon Burgett Garvin, Sr and Virginia Connor Garvin.

Dale is survived by his wife of 41 years, Theresa Harmon Garvin; daughters, Angela Troxell and Dorothy Gilbert; grandchildren, Jonathan Townsend and Kathy Troxell; 2 Great Grandchildren; sisters-in-law Jean Moore Garvin and Sybil Harmon; brother-in-law John D. Harmon and several nieces and nephews.

Dale had a master’s degree in Math and worked as a purchasing agent for Dan River Mills in their Corporate Office. He was an avid reader, who loved trout fishing and wood working.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pocahontas Baptist Church, P. O. Box 507, Bassett, VA 24055.
