Darrell Ray Hunt, age 76, of Collinsville, VA, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, in Henry County. He was born March 2, 1947, in Whitewood, VA to Chester Hunt and Rutha Horn Hunt.

In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Stanley Hunt (1996); daughter, Sandra Conner; second wife, Lula Mae Hunt (6/2023); brothers-in-law, Thurman Scott and Ray Lambert.

Darrell is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Kidd (Darrell); granddaughter, Amber Mercado (Michel); grandson, Ryan Kidd; great-grandson, Luka Mercado; sisters, Brenda Lambert, and Janie Scott and a host of nieces and nephews. Stepdaughter, Lisa Lewis; step-grandchildren, Crystal Padgett, Lisa Higgs, and Mitchell Lewis.

Darrell enjoyed hunting and fishing and fixing up old trucks. A service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Drive, Bassett, VA, at 12:00 p.m., with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will immediately follow at Henry Memorial Cemetery.
