Obituary For Doris Clark Hall

Doris Clark Hall, 93, of Bassett, Va. passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025. She was born August 8, 1931, to James William Clark and Jettie Shelton Clark.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Amos JD Hall, and her brother, Norman Clark and his wife Polly.

She is survived by her sons, Amos Michael Hall and his wife, Judith Ellen Hall, Ronald Lee Hall, and Mark Anthony Hall and his wife, Vicky Bray Hall; grandchildren, Ashley Renee Hall-Tighe and her husband Nathaniel Tighe, Lindsay Allison Linderman and her husband Richard B. Linderman, Jason Andrew Hall and his wife Brittany Hall; great grandchildren, Morgan Elizabeth Tighe, Kevin Patrick Tighe, Sloane Everly Linderman, Calista Greer Linderman. Doris was also survived by one niece.

Doris was a very devoted member of Bassett Church of Brethren for 77 years where she had served on the commission board, the deacon board, as a Sunday school teacher and as a treasurer.

She was a lifelong member of the Blackberry community. Doris loved her family, her neighbors and her church family. She especially enjoyed and looked forward to the community fellowship and picnic event that was held the first Saturday in every month at the home of William Belcher.

Doris loved being outdoors where she enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers and fishing at Nags Head, NC.

A public viewing will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Collins Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Roselawn Burial Park and will be officiated by Reverend Dr. J.D. Harmon. The family will receive friends and family at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 240 Commonwealth Blvd. West Unit 602 B, Martinsville, Va. 24112.
