Obituary For Emmanuel Frank Easley

Emmanuel Frank Easley, 73, of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 23, 2025. He was born on January 1, 1952, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Samuel Easley and Roxie Lee Craig Easley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jean Norman, his brothers, Eddie Craig, James Willie Easley, Earl Lee Easley, and Samuel Easley; four nephews, and several aunts and uncles.

Emmanuel received his education at Mary Hunter Elementary School and George Washington High School. He dedicated many years of his life to working at Bassett Mirror, Bassett Furniture Warehouse, and Superior Line Warehouse. Emanuel was known for his generous spirit—always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He spent his last years working as a handyman, a role that suited his practical skills and heart for service.

He attended House of Purpose. Emmanuel had a deep love for fishing and cherished his ability to uplift others with his laughter and kindness. His familiar expressions, “That’s pretty rough right there!”, “Hey, look here!”, “Listen, wait a minute”, “That’s pretty!”, and “That’s what’s up!” brought smiles to many and left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Calvin Lee Helms (Becky) and Franklin Martin (Sarah); three grandchildren, Brandon Moore, Shantiya Helm, and Graeson Armstrong; a beloved niece and bonus daughter, Keshia Watkins (Tyrone); special niece, Norma Jean Norman; two sisters, Cynthia Woods (Claude) and Regina Easley; one brother, Carl Easley (Priscilla);one beloved friend and brother, Wesley Wells; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 12:30pm at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor C.J. Martin officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at The Hairston Family Cemetery.
