Obituaries

Frank David Carter, 84, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his residence. He was born on September 22, 1939, to the late George M. Carter and Flora Blanche Harris Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dornice Carter, son, Brian Carter, five brothers and four sisters.

Frank was a member of First Baptist Church of Bassett. He was also a member of the National Guard.

Frank is survived by one son, Darrell Carter; one daughter, Kimberly Davis; 3 grandchildren, Logan Grubbs, Desirea McGrady, and Cody Musselman; 1 great grandchild, Yishai McGrady.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Bassett, with Pastor Doug Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. A burial will follow immediately after the service at the County Line Church of God of Prophecy Church Cemetery in Bassett, Virginia.
