Obituaries

James Alfred “Arab” Angle, age 95, of Bassett, Virginia passed away on April 13, 2025, at Stanleytown Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 18,1929 to the late Charlie and Sadie Stone Angle of Henry - Franklin County, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Alice T. Angle. She passed away on March 14, 2023.

Left to cherish his memory are a son, Charles “Chuck” Angle of Atlanta, Georgia; a daughter, Lynn Wilson and husband, Mark, of Danville, Virginia; granddaughter, Taylor Rae Brogan and husband, Troy, of Roanoke, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Colton Brogan, and Abigail Brogan; a sister, Linda Tilley and husband, Steve, of Henry, Virginia; along with nieces and nephews.

James was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church of Henry, Virginia. He was a Marine Sergeant during the Korean Campaign. He graduated from Henry High School in 1947 and was one of the last living members of his graduating class. He worked for Dupont for 39 years in the Shipping Department and Store’s Receiving, and retired in 1986.

The family will receive friends 12:00 - 2:00pm Friday, May 2, 2025 at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 6200 Henry Road, Henry, Virginia 24102 , with a graveside service immediately following in the church cemetery.
