James McKinley Bryant, 53, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 24, 2025. He was born on April 22, 1972, to William Henry Bryant and Bonnie Faye Drake, who survives.

James was employed as a Manager in the Bakery Department at Empire Bakery. He was an avid fan of English Premier League soccer, a devoted Star Wars and Horror enthusiast, and a fitness lover who enjoyed walking, hiking, and biking.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Marissa Lynn Bryant; sister, Treva Christine Bryant; stepfather, James Drake; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
