Jerrold “Sarg” Wesley Carter, 59, of Martinsville, Virginia, transitioned from this earthly life November 4, 2025. He was born August 19, 1966, in Danville, Virginia, to Ruby Fitzgerald Carter and the late John Wesley Carter.

Jerrold was of the Christian faith and a member of Guildfield Baptist Church in Dry Fork, Virginia, where he found a loving faith community. He proudly served his country with the United States Army National Guard for twenty years. With a larger-than-life personality, Jerrold lived every day to the fullest. He loved cars and driving fast and furious. His life was full of incredible friendships; he put so much effort into pleasing people. Jerrold’s love for his wife, Bernadette, ran deep and he always went the extra mile to take care of her and let her know she was cherished. His legacy of love and laughter will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Along with his wife and mother, those left to honor his memory are his daughter, Kimberly Nicole Joseph (Robert); son, Jerrold W. Warter (Lavern); and sisters, Jennifer Dale Harris (Markell), Felecia Harris (Kenny), Rowena Carter, and Tahnya Williams.
