Jimmy Roger Harmon, 73, ran into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born September 16, 1951, in Franklin County, Virginia, to the late William Clarence Harmon and Mary Elsie Lowes Harmon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Bowers Harmon; one daughter; and one son.

Jimmy was of the Christian faith and attended Fresh Start Ministries in Fieldale, Virginia. He was a man who loved his Savior and it was evident in all he did. He attended Bible study regularly and could often be heard quoting his favorite line, “Jesus is on the main line.” He was employed by Bassett Furniture Industry for over 20 years. Jimmy loved to write and was known for his beautiful penmanship. He enjoyed the simple things in life: reading, drinking Mountain Dews, and attending his day program. He kept a full schedule with Senior Citizens Day on Wednesdays, arts and crafts days, and Walmart trips on Fridays. His enthusiasm for life made an impact on those around him.

Although his services will be private, gratitude is extended to those who have expressed their love and kindness during this time. Special thanks are expressed to Jimmy’s caregivers, Sandra Finney, Vartaysha Cole, and Chanique Martin.
