John "Johnny" David Eanes, 70, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday June 23, 2025.

Born on August 10, 1954, in Martinsville, Virginia, John was the son of the late John Morton Eanes and Christine Young Eanes. He was also preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Donald Lee Eanes and Michael Ray Eanes.

John is lovingly remembered by his nieces, Stacey Clark (Daniel), Katherine Amato (James), and Megan Moore (Jimmie); and his great-nieces, Rayna Clark, Lillia Amato, Arielle Mitchell, Adelyn Campbell, and Arrow Campbell. He also leaves behind many cherished friends and devoted neighbors who were like family to him.

A dedicated financial consultant by profession, John was known for his sharp mind and generous spirit. He was a passionate sports fan, faithfully cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. Music was one of John’s greatest joys—he was a talented multi-instrumentalist with a special love for bluegrass and classic rock. He also found peace in nature, especially while crappie fishing at Smithville Lake.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 AM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Michael Hatfield. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bassett High School Marching Band, Attn: Trey Harris, 85 Riverside Drive, Bassett, VA 24055.
