Obituaries

Joseph Robert Hall, 89, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born to the late Dennis Hall and Gladys Hall. In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by wife, Anna Stump Hall; brothers, Clyde Hall and Garnett Hall; and sisters, Elva Thomas and Audrey Hodges.

Joseph is survived by daughter, Suzanne Wood (Michael); step-daughter, Susan Painter (Mike); grandchildren, Matthew Painter (Jessica) and Christopher Wood; great-grandchildren, Carson, Connor, and Daphne; sisters, Annie Belle Dalton and Nancy Midkiff; and brother Ralph Hall.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services Stuart Chapel. Pastor Roy McVey will be officiating the service. Burial will follow the service at Patrick Memorial Gardens, 20937 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Stuart, VA, 24171. There will be full military rites performed by the Patrick County Veteran Honor Guard at the graveside.

The family are thankful to the staff of Kings Grant Retirement Community and Mountain Valley Hospice for their loving care and service.
