Lynda Sue McLeod Simpson, 79, formally from Winston-Salem, NC, residing in Martinsville, VA for the past 12 years, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Sovah Health of Martinsville & Henry County. She was born on February 14, 1944, in Mobile, AL to the late Travis Arnel McLeod and Jewel Marie Williamson McLeod. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, Larry David Simpson; maternal grandparents, Pete Williamson and Ethel Woodhouse Williamson; and her paternal grandparents Peter Miles McLeod and Sadie Jones McLeod.

She is survived by her sisters, Kathy Francis Gibbs (Raymond) of Martinsville, VA, Wanda Whitlock (Jerry) of FL., and Beverly Kiger (Sonny) of Winston-Salem, NC; brothers, Steve McLeod (Loretta) of Winston-Salem, NC, and Bob McLeod (Dian) of FL. Also, her special friend, Louis Bryant of NC.

Lynda Sue was a 1962 graduate of Hanes High School in Winston-Salem. She retired to Martinsville in 2010 from Forsyth Memorial Hospital where she had worked for 45 years. She was known by her family and friends as a fabulous cook who made the best Fudge.
