Obituaries

Mark Andrew Cox, 76, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Stanleytown Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 9, 1947, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Claude Swanson Cox and Margaret Good Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kent Cox.

Mark was of the Baptist faith. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In his free time, he enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, hunting, and barbequing. He was known as an avid outdoorsman.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Bernice Ramsey Gibbs Cox; daughters, Missy, and Kelly; sister, Brenda Hagood; brother, William “Bill” Cox; and grandchildren, Zachary and Londyn.

All services will be private.
