Obituaries

Mary Ellen Shelton, 58, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 2, 1965, in Martinsville, VA to Mary Alice Atkins Osborne and the late Jack Donald Osborne. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Donald Keith Osborne.

Mrs. Shelton was a member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church and a lifelong member of the Fieldale-Collinsville Volunteer Rescue Squad.

She is survived by her husband, Gregory Alan Shelton; stepson, Richard Alan Shelton; brother, Stephen Samuel Osborne (Denise); brother-in-law, Archie Edward Shelton, JR. (Faye); sisters-in-law, Phyllis Shelton Meade (Patrick), and Leisa Osborne. Also surviving are her special nieces, Bethany Nichole Atkinson (T.K.), and Tiffany Michelle Osborne, Brooke Meade, Mandy, and Erin (Richard), special nephew, Hunter Meade, and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at McCabe Memorial Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at McCabe Memorial Baptist Church on Thursday, October 5, 2023, with Dr. G.H. Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.
