Obituaries

Mary Lee Jessie, 95, of Martinsville, VA passed away Monday, October 9, 2023 at Stanleytown Heath and Rehab. She was born July 8, 1928 in Patrick County, VA to the late Burt Gilley, Sr. and Hulda Biggs Gilley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Heenan A. Jessie; siblings, Elton Gilley and Shirley Gilley; twin grandsons, Dustin and Justin Williams; and nephew, Andy Gilley.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Williams (Pete); grandchild, Staci Williams (Candice); nieces and nephews, Debbie Wright, Susan Dillon, and Wayne Gilley; and many great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jessie was a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeway and retired as a branch manager at Piedmont Trust.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with Rev. Lewis Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Norris Funeral Services. Entombment will be at Roselawn Abbey.
