Mikel “Snake” Drake George, 81, of Martinsville, Va. passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at his home in the Horsepasture community surrounding by his family. He was born in Henry County, April 26, 1943, to the late Joseph Graham George and Bertha Anges Bishop George.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Teresa Lynne George; his son, Shane George; daughter, Michelle George; grandsons, Christian and Bentley; granddaughter, Bella; sister, Lillie Ann Arnold; and nieces and many great friends.

Mikel worked as a supervisor at Highpoint Sprinkler for 35 ½ years. Following his retirement, he began a very successful career building and working on Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was well known for his exceptional knowledge and skill at working on all Harleys and especially the older bikes.

Mikel loved his family and his church family. He enjoyed going to the beach especially during Bike Week. He loved NASCAR, attending races at Martinsville Speedway, and watching the Washington Redskins.

He never met a stranger and valued all the many great friendships he made in life. His mother used to say that Mikel could get in a crowd of people and figure out how to have a lot of fun. He loved being with people and making new friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Roselawn Burial Park and will be officiated by Pastor Marty Furrow. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Those on motorcycles will lead the funeral procession going to Roselawn at 12:50 pm.
