Obituary For Patricia Louise Davis Crotts

Patricia Louise Davis Crotts, 76, entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in Martinsville, Virginia. She was born on March 16, 1949, in Martinsville to the late Sherman Alvin Davis and Beulah Ann Rea Davis.

In addition to her parents, she was welcomed into Heaven by her sisters, Sally Aliff and Nancy Massey, and her brothers, John Davis and Clyde Davis.

Patricia was a woman of unwavering Christian faith whose life was defined by compassion, service, and love for others. From her earliest days as a dedicated Candy Striper, to her fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, she poured her heart into caring for those in need. She retired from the Virginia Department of Health as a Breastfeeding Consultant for the WIC program, where she guided countless mothers and families with kindness and wisdom.

She was a lifelong servant in her faith community, spending many years as a member of Spoon Creek Primitive Baptist Church and later joining Rich Acres Christian Church. Patricia’s faith shone brightly in her everyday actions as she generously gave her time and energy to others.

A gifted student, Patricia graduated from Fieldale-Collinsville High School in 1967. Her drive and determination were matched only by her warmth and gentle spirit. She possessed a beautiful singing voice and found joy in music, the vibrant colors of flowers, and quiet hours tending her garden. The beach was her happy place, where she loved to relax and take in God’s creation, and she spent many summers there with her family.

Patricia’s heart of gold touched the lives of countless people. She leaves behind an enduring legacy of love, service, and faith. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Larry Thomas Crotts; her daughter, Kristy-Leigh Tatum (Chris); her son, Michael Crotts (Mary); her sister, Sharon Hundley (Marion); her beloved grandchildren, Cameron “Cami” Tatum and Keira Tatum; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Patricia also leaves behind Kevin Beck and Michael Pearson, whom she loved like sons; and Holly Brown and Denise Handy, whom she cherished as daughters. She will be lovingly remembered by the many children whose lives she enriched through her tireless involvement in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Bassett High School Band.

Patricia’s family and friends will forever hold dear the memory of a remarkable woman whose kindness, faith, and selflessness left an indelible imprint on every heart she touched. She was blessed with the compassionate care of Ginny Tatum and Jeanette Harris, whose kindness and dedication brought her comfort and peace.

The funeral will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Rich Acres Christian Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
