Obituaries

Patricia Wynn Shivley, 84, of Collinsville, Virginia, entered her heavenly rest Wednesday, November 5, 2025. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 31, 1941, to the late Harold Wynn and Rose Domine Wynn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Leonard Shivley.

Patricia was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family tremendously. She invested in the lives of her children and grandchildren, ensuring that they always came first. Married to Paul for 59 years, she built a foundation of love and happiness and spent her life caring for her family. She enjoyed traveling and in her leisure time she spent time sewing. Patricia enjoyed a fulfilling career as a bookkeeper for a franchise corporation. She and her husband came to Martinsville to start the first two McDonald’s franchises in the area. Although her physical presence is no longer here, her legacy of love and kindness will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by a son, Brandon Charles Shivley (Heather), sisters, Barbara Henwood, Joan Johnson; brother, Harold “Howard” Wynn (Jean); grandchildren, Jackson Shivley, Cooper Shivley, Lideah Shivley; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, and her special friend, Amy Joyce.

A memorial service will be held Monday, November 10, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Kyle Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
