Obituaries

Ronnie Lee Hankins, Sr., 78, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025. He was born December 5, 1946, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Gravely Clark Hankins, Jr. and Essie Gravely Hankins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Joyce; brothers, Glenn Hankins, Engle Hankins, and Eugene Hankins.

Ronnie proudly served his country with the United States Army 1st Division Infantry in Vietnam. He was a lifelong proud veteran who enjoyed fishing, listening to music and watching classic television shows.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Angela Lisa Hopkins Hankins; sons, Ronnie Lee Hankins, Jr. (Lisa), and Richard Hankins (Lori); sister, Robin Wright (Sammy); stepsons, Josh Haley and Hunter Hill; brothers, Ricky Hankins, (Yvonne), and Phillips Hankins (Melissa); grandchildren, Kerri Terrell (George), Kasey Surratt (Scott), Bret Hankins, Taylor Hankins, Aaron Hankins, Jason Deal, Isaac Diaz, Krystel Avila, Matthew Dubin; stepgrandchildren, Ryan Haley, Jaxon Haley, and Chevy Haley; great grandchildren, Ayden Alvarez, Sophia Terrell, Breaker Surratt, Bodie Surratt, Banks Surratt, Nora Surratt, Alicia Dubin, Alias Dubin, Angel Avila and Edward Avila.

Services will be held at a later date.
