Obituaries

Ruby Geraldean Sturgill Wright, 86, of Martinsville, Virginia, entered her heavenly rest Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She was born February 19, 1939, in Sparta, North Carolina, to the late James Sturgill and Minnie Spurlin Sturgill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Renae Wright; sons, Michael Wright, Terry Wright; and brother, Jerry Sturgill.

Geraldean held deep love for her family and was known for helping not only her closest loved ones, but everyone with whom she came in contact. Her creativity was evidenced by the sewing and crafts she shared with others.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debra Haskins; son, Charlie C. Wright, Jr.; sister, Gayle Adams (Mike); grandchildren, April Wright, Lori Hundley, Amanda Tate, Kaila Haskins, Lee Mason, Amber Drawbaugh, Ashley Wright; and eleven great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church located at 1847 Antioch Church Road, Sparta, North Carolina. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service.
