Shirley M. Stone, 78, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024. She was born February 9, 1945, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Renzo Thomas Moxley and Geneva Wilson Moxley.

Shirley was of the Christian faith. She loved to travel, especially to Tennessee and Disney World. She enjoyed playing games on the computer, shopping on QVC, and working on the flowers in her yard. Above all else, she loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister; Barbara Collie, and brother Randall “Jack” Moxley.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Stone; sons, Darrell Stout, Barry Stout (Cynthia); stepdaughter, Jackie Wyatt; stepsons, Kenny Stone, Kevin Stone; grandchildren, Ashley Stout, Amber Stout; and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, send donations in memory of Shirley Stone to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Friends and family will gather at a later date.
