Obituaries

Stephen Jermaine Wimbush, 48, of Martinsville, Virginia, transitioned on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born on May 31, 1975, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Medina Elaine Wimbush Tolbert. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond Wimbush, and Elizabeth Wells.

Stephen was employed by Radial. He was a member of the Antioch Christian Church. He enjoyed reading his daily Word. Stephen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he was filled with humor and loved making people laugh, and he also enjoyed washing his car.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Michalle Wimbush; one daughter, Jae'da Manns; one son, Joshua Taylor; two brothers, Travis Tolbert and Antonio Tolbert; mother in law, Mae Taylor; two aunts, Lanita Rivers (Michael) and Teresa Worthen; three uncles, Timothy Largin, Carlos Wimbush (Lolbeth), and Raymond Wimbush; three great aunts, Mildred France, Jennie Wimbush, and Ernestine Hagwood; and two great uncles, Shedrick Wells and Floyd Wells; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Antioch Christian Church, with Pastor Eugene Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. A burial will follow immediately after the service at the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery.
