Obituaries

Susan Gayle Sifford, 73, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Stanleytown Health & Rehabilitation. She was born on January 14, 1950, to the late Cecil H. Harris and Lois Mae Handy Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Sifford.

Susan enjoyed crafting, attending church, and spending time with her family and friends.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Tracey Hill; her son, Timmy Sifford (Terry); her grandchildren, Jacob Hill, Tucker Hill, Jennifer Sifford, and Dillon Sifford (Katye); and Matthew Holt; her great-grandchildren, Tatumn Sifford, Jurnee Holt, Trenadee Holt, and Slaytor Holt; her sister, Kathie Meredith; her brothers, Dale Harris and C.W. Harris; and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service will be announced later by the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 663 Barrows Mill Rd., Martinsville, Virginia 24112. Bassett Funeral Service is serving the Sifford family.
