Obituaries

Tammy Maria Compton, 65, Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025. She was born January 11, 1960, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Richard Hopkins and Nancy Ferguson Hopkins.

Tammy was a devoted mail carrier who dedicated twenty-two years of service to the United States Postal Service. A 1978 graduate of Fieldale-Collinsville High School, she had a heart for helping others and found joy in spending time with her family. She lovingly cared for her granddaughter and was always present to cheer on her grandchildren at their sporting events. Tammy shared forty wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Wesley, and their bond was a testament to love, commitment, and unwavering dedication.

She is survived by her loving husband, Glenn Wesley Compton; daughter, Michelle Martin (Clint); sons, Justin Compton, Tim Compton (Nikki), and Wes Compton; brothers, Terry Hopkins and Donald Hopkins; grandchildren, Curt Compton (Ashley), Christopher Compton, Will Compton, Lainey Martin, Haley Easter, and Mckenzie Easter; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The funeral will be Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Fontaine Baptist Church with Pastor Merle Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Fairhaven Memorial Park. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service where the family will receive friends and family at that time.
