Obituaries

Vivian Laonia Stone Stafford, 96, of Bassett, VA passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Stanleytown Health Care. She was born on July 4, 1927, in Henry, VA to the late Albert Stone and Annie Lovell Stone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reggie Hundley Stafford; sister, Erma Wood; and her brother, Rocky Stone.

She was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church and owner/operator of Stafford Monuments.

Surviving are her daughters, Kathy Stafford of Bassett, VA, and Cindy Summit (Terry) of Martinsville, VA; son, John Stafford (Nancy) of Greensboro, NC; sister, Evelyn Deal; grandchildren, Adam Stafford, Laura Melvin (Jim), Roxanne Reeves (Zach); and her great-grandchildren, Caroline Melvin, Isabelle Melvin, Grayson Reeves, and Brody Reeves.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Norris Funeral Services from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel, with Rev. Tony Beach & Dr. Joey McNeill officiating. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.
