William Arthur Boyd, 87, of Martinsville, VA passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his home. He was born September 3, 1936 in Henry County, VA to the late Walter Greenville Boyd and Gladys Rhodes Boyd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Boyd.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Reba Hairfield Boyd; daughter, Susan Moore (Charles); grandson, Will Moore (Amber); great-granddaughter, Lorelai Moore; sisters, Shelby Cromer (Phillip) and Hazel Rhodes; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Boyd was a skilled welder and woodworker and worked for Flute’s Sheet Metal. He was a member of Stanleytown’s Amazing Grace Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with Pastor, Dr. Greg Hodges officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Stanleytown’s Amazing Grace Baptist Church, 755 Fairystone Park Hwy., Stanleytown, VA 24168.
