On Tuesday evening, March 11, 2025, around 7:00 p.m., Martinsville Police Officers conducted a well-being check at the residence located at 120 Park Street. Officers were conducting the check based on a scheduled post on social media from the resident indicating that he and his wife would be found deceased inside.
When the officers went inside the house, they found the bodies of James Michael Tucker, age 53, and Lisa Dawn Allred-Tucker, age 52, lying in the bed. Officers also found handwritten notes from both individuals detailing their intentions and instructions on what to do with their possessions.
There were no signs of forced entry into the house, no signs of struggle, and no apparent injuries to the couple. Several medications were collected. The state medical examiner’s office will determine the exact cause of death.
Although all indications are clear that these deaths are suicides, Martinsville Detectives are conducting complete documentation and processing of the scene as a precaution.
Updates will not be given unless evidence is discovered that contradicts the current indication of suicide. The incident will remain under investigation until determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
