The Wilson Tobs beat the Mustangs last night at Hooker Field 5-2.
The Tobs scored one run in the first, two in the second, and another run in the third before the Mustangs answered back with two in the fifth. Wilson scored and insurance run in the eighth, making five runs on 11 hits with one error. Martinsville made their two runs out of six hits and one error.
There were 992 in attendance.
Johnboy Rittenhouse of the Mustangs got the lone homerun on the night, punching one over the left field wall.
The Mustangs’ Mason Reising remains second in the league with 36 RBIs, and Aidan Kelly is third in the league on the mound with 36 strikeouts.
Martinsville is 18-24 on the season. Post-season playoffs this year are out of reach with only six games left.
The Mustangs play at Asheboro tonight.
