Obituaries

Brushawn C. Niblett, 43, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at his residence. He was born June 10, 1980, in Martinsville, Virginia, to William Whitico and the late Theresa Niblett Dalton. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Roscoe Dalton; grandparents, Rev. Elijah and Josephine Niblett; and one uncle, Thomas Niblett.

Brushawn joined High Street Baptist Church at an early age. He enjoyed drawing, listening to music especially reggae, and spending time with his family.

Brushawn is survived by his father, William Whitico Sr.; two brothers, Khalil Niblett and William Whitico Jr.; five uncles, Felix Niblett, Ramadan Ya-Sin, George Niblett, Ralph Niblett, and Stacey Niblett; a special niece and caregiver, Destiny Niblett; also caregiver, Krystal Woodson; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the High Ridge Baptist Church, with Pastor Keishawn Niblett officiating.
