Obituaries

Carroll Eugene Draper, 78, of Bassett, VA, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, peacefully at Stanleytown Health & Rehabilitation. He was born on April 26, 1945, to the late Lonnie Draper and Mary Draper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, April Star Draper, and Sebrena Grace Draper; one sister, Bobbie Draper; and one brother, Larry Draper

He was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Carroll is survived by his wife for over 30 years, Shirley B. Draper; two grandchildren, Kalie Joe Kayler Draper, and Harley Dean Draper Harrison; three sisters, Teresa Seay, Phyllis Draper, and Patsy Draper; two brothers, Stafford Draper and Ricky Draper and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Joe Glass officiating. Burial will be at Henry Memorial Park immediately following the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
