Obituaries

Cathy Wagoner Watkins, 68, went to see her Lord and Savior on November 3, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, after a brief illness.

Cathy was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, participated in Lydia Missions, and helped with children’s ministries. She was a member of several quilting guilds and owned and operated Trinity Insurance Company on Starling Avenue.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Pauline Wagoner, and her father, George Lee Wagoner.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael Watkins (Woofy); sister, Vickie Hutchens (David); niece, Stephanie Van Leeuwen (Evan); great-nieces, Victoria, and Sophia; step-nephew, Grayson; brothers-in-law, Robbie Watkins (Kitty) and Randy Watkins (Linette); nephews, Daniel and Cole and nieces, Katelyn, and Ashlyn, all of whom she loved with all of her heart.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. with service at 2:30 p.m., Pastors Randy Aldridge and Steve Doby will preside over the service.
