Charles Warren Via (C.W.), 82, of Bassett, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Sovah-Health Martinsville. He was born on January 1, 1940, in Fieldale to the late Charles James Via and Dessie Brooksie Stone Via. In addition to his parents, C.W. was preceded in death by his three brothers: William Troy Via (“Sam”), James M. Via, and Roy T. Via; and his sister Irene Via Bower.

C.W. was a longtime member of Stanleytown Amazing Grace Baptist Church and he loved sharing the word of the Lord with others. He also enjoyed collecting antique cars and attending car shows. C.W. owned and operated C & N Furniture Store in Pleasant Grove.

C.W. is survived by his loving wife, Norma Smith Via., of 60 years. He is also survived by his sister, Corinne Crowder of Lynchburg, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will follow at 1:30 PM with Dr. Greg Hodges and Pastor Clay Bower officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, Va.
