Dellar May Nichols Price, 89, passed away in her home on July 24, 2023. She was born in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the moonshine capital of the world, Franklin Co., VA. Belonging to a family of 11 siblings, she was the daughter of Victoria Booth and Thurman Nichols. The family survived on moonshining and farming.

Dellar married and settled in Ridgeway, Va to rear a family of 11 children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brenton Price; a son, Joel Price; and a grandson.

Survivors include children, Regina Flora, Willmer Price, Mariah Nelson, and Seth Price from Ridgeway, Lisa Price of Collinsville, Shelly Irvine of Fancy Gap, Brent Price of Kernersville, Jake Price of Winston-Salem, Reeser Cooksey of MS, and Joley Unruh of TX. Survivors also include 25 grandchildren , 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 newborn great-great-granddaughter. The siblings surviving are Bud Nichols and Glendola Midkiff of Ferrum and Bessie Peters of Collinsville.

Dellar enjoyed visiting friends and relatives. She worked in several nursing homes as a Certified Nurse Aide and provided home health services to the elderly. She was a member of the Martinsville 7th Day Adventist Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Wright Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will also be in the chapel Thursday at 2:00 pm followed by burial at Mountain View Cemetery.
