Dorothy Caroline Williams Smith, 82, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at Mulberry Creek Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Smith was born on December 8, 1940, in Martinsville to the late Lofton Benjamin Williams and Veatrice Perdue Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burton Wayne (Shadarack) Smith.

Dorothy attended Abundant Life Fellowship Church and worked as a manager for Merita Bread Store.

Surviving is her daughter; Barbara Smith Fabinski (David) of Martinsville, son; Randy DeWayne Smith (KiKi) of Martinsville, sisters; Bertha Williams Agee, Claudie Williams Spencer, and Deane Williams Daniels, grandchildren; Jamie Haley (Christe), Jesslynne Barela (Ransom), Emily Clark (Bryan), Ashley Mena (David), Marissa Smith and Kalee Smith, great-grandchildren; Chloe Thompson, Ryleigh Clark, Hayden Mena, and Jovan Huettlinger, also many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 12:00 pm with Minister Tim Hunt officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until 11:45 am prior to the service and other times at the home of her son Randy, 61 Ridgeland Heights, Martinsville, VA. The burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dyers Store Volunteer Fire Department, 3230 Chatham Road, Martinsville, Va.24112.
