Obituary For Luther Alexander Seay Sr.

Luther Alexander Seay, Sr., 78, passed away peacefully at his home on January 26, 2024. He was born September 8, 1945, to the late John Pete Seay and the late Bessie Foster Seay. He was a 1964 graduate of Albert Harris High School.

He married his high school sweetheart, Catherine Williams, and to that union two children were born.

Luther attended Grace Presbyterian Church where he was a trustee and a member of the Male Choir. He was employed by the US Postal Service for over 40 years.

Luther was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed football, track and field and boxing. In his spare time, he enjoyed running and working out as long as his health allowed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, James Seay, George Seay, Benjamin Seay, Harry Seay, Sr. and Robert Seay, Sr.; two sisters, Charlotte Wilson and Nora Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Catherine Seay of High Point, NC; his loving children, Luther Seay, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA and daughter, Kimbreli Hall (Demetrius) of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren, Kimbry’l Ilexis Martin of Greensboro, NC, Eyann Martin of Martinsville, VA and Kourtni Rouster of Phoenix, Arizona; two great grandchildren, Ezamir Martin of Martinsville, VA and Kailani Madden of Greensboro, NC; three sisters, Bessie Elizabeth Rayford of Salisbury, NC, Marie Seay and Belinda Foster both of Martinsville, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA with Reverend Kelvin G. Perry officiating. Family and friends may sign the registry book on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
